Craft Brewery Osowa Góra, after 8 years of presence on the market, is closing its operations at the end of September this year. The owners of the company justify this decision with the drastically rising costs of beer production, including energy and raw materials. Additionally, the situation of breweries has been worsened recently by a significant decrease in beer consumption in Poland, estimated at -8% this year.
For the first time, the several hundred-year-old tradition of brewing beer in Bydgoszcz came to an end in 2006 when Grupa Żywiec liquidated Browar Kujawiak. A decade later, the tradition was revived – a group of craft beer enthusiasts decided to establish a craft brewery in Bydgoszcz under the name Osowa Góra.
Plans to open a brewery in Bydgoski Industrial Park, which was supposed to revive the beer brand “Bractwo” in Bydgoszcz, were also disrupted.
