Walkers will return to the footbridge near the opera.

The footbridge was closed in March after the start of construction of the Opera Nova’s 4th Circle. The northern foundation wall, which encroached on the construction site, was demolished. However, the City Hall decided that the footbridge, popular among residents and tourists, could not be shut down for a period of 2.5 years. Therefore, the contractor was obliged to build a temporary descent to the embankment. A solid substitute structure with wide stairs is already ready, awaiting final technical inspections. According to the plans, all formalities should be completed by the end of August.

The construction of the fourth circle of the opera is scheduled to be completed in mid-2026. At that time, the descent will be opened in its final form, directly connecting the footbridge with the terrace in front of the 4th Circle.
